Marketing5: Mobile Marketing

Mobile marketing is a digital marketing technique that targets consumers on their mobile devices. It involves channels to reach consumers where they spend most of their time - on their mobile devices. Mobile marketing can include targeting mobile apps, sending SMS, web advertising, location based marketing. It involves mobile-specific features such as push notifications, in-app purchases etc. Most people access the internet through their devices nowadays, hence mobile-first strategy is essential in todays marketing climate. (Kenton, 2023)

1. Mobile App-Based Marketing:

Developing our own mobile app or collaborating with other, already popular apps to promote our product is an efficient way of advertising on the mobile platform. With the use of mobile apps, customers can have an enhanced experience where they could be engaged based on location, with the use of push notifications and exclusive content.

2. SMS Marketing:

While SMS marketing is rather outdated in todays world it is still a powerful tool for advertising. With the widespread use of mobile phones and the availability of mobile numbers for collection and as a way of direct contact, promoters can reach their target audience directly and in a timely manner. SMS marketing can be used also to drive traffic to other mobile based marketing strategies by redirecting customers with the use of URLs.
